The Level 2 Door Supervisor course is an accredited qualification which has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA license and work as a Door Supervisor.

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners wishing to apply for a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications.

 

Please take 5 minutes to read all of the guidance below – it is important and you must be compliant in order to start your Door Supervisor Training.  These requirements are specified by the SIA we are not permitted to make any allowances.

 

In order to undertake the Door Supervisor week you must be operating as a minimum a Level 1 in English.

As Security operatives are likely in the course of their work to be required to complete written statements and make calls to the emergency services, or for example communicate to resolve conflict. It is essential that security operatives can communicate effectively.

The SIA have specified that all learners should, as a minimum, have language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening equivalent to Level 1.

You must as a minimum achieve a score of 16 on our English assessment unless you are able to provide us with a certificate equivalent to the following:

• A B2 Level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognized English tests and qualifications.
• A B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
• An ESOL qualification at (Level 1) on the Ofqual register taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
• An ESOL qualification at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Level 5 awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and taken in Scotland.
• Functional Skills Level 1 in English.
• SQA Core Skills in Communication at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Level 5.
• Essential Skills Wales Communication Level 1.
• Level 1 in Essential Skills – Communication Northern Ireland

 

It is a requirement of the awarding body and the SIA that before you attend your Door Supervisor training you must have completed the module Working within the Private Security Industry, this is referred to as your Distance Learning and comprised of 31 questions that must be answered.
